BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Exploring Vocal Arts with Echoing Air is an exciting 1 week summer program for students age 14 to 19 (advanced high school singers and undergraduate college students). The program explores the art of solo vocal performance focusing on chamber music of the Baroque and Renaissance periods. There are daily voice lessons, masterclasses and coachings with Echoing Air, an early music ensemble of harpsichord, recorders and viola da gamba. High School students will be coached on repertoire appropriate for district and state solo and ensemble competitions. College students will explore repertoire appropriate for a junior or senior recital.

CAMP LOCATION: The camp will take place at First Presbyterian Church in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Echoing Air, Inc., founded in 2009, features the voices of countertenors together with early instruments with a special emphasis on music of late 17th Century England. Performances include an expanded palate of other European chamber works of the period as well as 20th and 21st Century music composed for
countertenor and historical instruments. Echoing Air is comprised of internationally recognized performers and educators who have worked with leading proponents of early music.
Echoing Air’s commitment to music education has lead to the development of an active, all-inclusive educational program, with offerings for audiences of all ages.
CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: A limited number of scholarships are available.
