CAMP FACILITIES: Our camp is located at Blue Mountain Resort nestled in the Pocono mountains. For residential campers we offer cabins that sleep 8-10 campers, a counselor, and a junior counselor. Bathrooms and showers are located in the adjacent building. All campers will have Blue Mountain facilities at their disposal depending on the activities of your child's choice. Blue Mountain has laser tag accommodations, a ropes course, climbing wall, a zipline course, disc golf course, and an archery range. Campers also have the choice to go horseback riding at Apollo Farms or go on a Jim Thorpe River Adventure!

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Students attend classes and workshops five days each week with an emphasis on all aspects of Musical Theatre, including acting and stage management/design/technical theatre. Students receive daily technique classes in acting, voice (both group and private), and dance/musical theatre movement from the highest-quality teachers and industry professionals. Eileen is an award-winning Director and Choreographer and a former Broadway performer and Rockette. She directed and staged the Radio City Christmas Spectacular touring productions for 9 years. She has served as Artistic Director of the Rockette's Summer Intensive Program and as Associate Producer for the theater company, Reagle Music Theater in Boston and as director for the annual Bradley Awards at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Eileen was in the Broadway casts of 42nd Street, Will Rogers Follies, and in the international tour of My One and Only (with Tommy Tune). CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Artistic merit scholarships are available. Each student will be considered and evaluated when their application is submitted. CAMP FACILITIES: Summit has approx. 30 traditional wooden cabins with electric and private facilities in each cabin. Our main buildings include our newly refinished dining hall, air-conditioned recreational hall, our medical facility, and a newly built outdoor pavilion. Summit utilizes three A frame buildings for our arts programs, a wilderness treehouse with camp fire area for cookouts, newly resurfaced basketball/tennis courts, high/low ropes course with climbing wall, heated pool, private lake, nature fields with a farm area, martial arts dojo, go-kart track with 3 karts. Summit has a small amphitheatre adjacent to our lake, with a miraculous view of our beautiful setting where we enjoy swimming, canoeing, and riding our banana boats. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summit Camp is a co-ed sleepaway camp for ages 8-19 years with issues of attention: AD/HD, HFA/Asperger’s Disorder, and/or learning differences. Using the frame of a traditional sleepaway camp, we create platforms of success where our campers can experience outcomes such as improved self-esteem, lasting friendships, and increased independence. This is accomplished through a well-orchestrated and expertly staffed backdrop to a largely traditional camp experience- guided challenges, waterfront, adventure course, and more. Riverbend is looking for energetic and motivated students between the ages of 16 and 18, to assist with our summer camp program and have a positive impact on the lives and education of younger children. Educators-In-Training will spend their time assisting professional educators and assistant educators with group management, daily activities, modeling of appropriate behavior, and providing nurturing support of campers. In addition, EITs will get to participate in activities with the children, including games, nature exploration, field trips, and more. EITs work primarily with our youngest campers and are a vital part to the success of the program.

Pre-requisites:

25 hours of cumulative experience working with children in a CIT program, babysitting, community experience, or similar experience.
Experience working with multiple age groups of children.
An excitement for the great outdoors and a passion for sharing it with children.

Responsibilities:

EIT's perform a vital role in Riverbend's summer camp program. Depending on the EIT's time and growth in the position there will be potential for increased responsibilities throughout the summer including but not limited to check in and check out, leading an Activity Day program, and planning and implementing lessons.

Basic duties include:
-Assisting camp staff with assigned tasks that help with the general management of educational groups, primarily for children 3-6 years of age.
-Providing a role model for the younger children on the appropriate ways to behave at camp and how to successfully explore the natural world.
-Assisting with the leading of Circle Time and Activity Day.
-Assisting with implementation of lesson plans and activities.
-Assisting with the clean-up of education spaces, including picnic areas, outdoor classroom, supply room and others.
-Assisting with camper lunch.

Qualifications:

-Successful completion of pre-employment screening including drug test and Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance and criminal background check.
-Ability to work actively outdoors during the hot summer months and in all weather conditions.

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
Summer 2017 Environmental Educator

Dates: June 5th - September 1st; Monday - Friday, 8:00 - 4:00 (some evenings and overnights required)

Program:

Riverbend is seeking self-motivated, energetic, and passionate educators to be a part of the staff of Riverbend's Summer Exploration Day Camp. Each week 80-100 children, ages 3–13, come to our 30-acre Gladwyne site for outdoor hands-on exploration and discovery. The atmosphere is friendly and child-centered. Curriculum is interpreted and delivered by professional staff with a strong emphasis on exploring and expanding children's interests and stimulating investigation. Some programs take place at other sites and include field trips, cook-outs, camp-outs, and camping trips. Groups are generally 12-14 children and are led by a lead educator and supported by an assistant educator.

Responsibilities:

Educators will work with a specific age group for the majority of the summer. Age groups will be designated based on experience and interest.
Educators will be required to interpret existing curriculum and amend it to be age appropriate lesson plans each day. Educators are encouraged to collaborate in this process.

Educators implement the lesson plans with a group of approximately 12-14 campers for whom they have primary responsibility, which includes group management, chaperoning field trips, and organizing cook-outs and overnights when teaching the older groups.

Educators and assistant educators are expected to work together as a team and supervise any Educator-in-Training (teen volunteer) assigned to their group.
General upkeep of the facility each day will be expected with weekly chores completed on Fridays.

Qualifications:

-Successful completion of pre-employment screening including drug test and Pennsylvania Child Abuse History -Clearance and criminal background check.
-Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Education, Biology, Geology, Outdoor Recreation, etc.).
-Understanding of basic principles of environmental education
-Knowledge of environmental/science/natural history concepts
-1-2 yrs experience educating and managing groups of children in a professional setting.
-Strong oral communication skills
-Ability to work a flexible schedule which will include early mornings, late afternoons and occasional overnights.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Camp Harmony offers a Leaders-in-Training program for youth ages 16 & older who have completed at least 10th grade. Leaders-in-Training participate in activities during the week of staff training and then choose 2 weeks out of the summer to volunteer with our staff in various capacities.

CAMP FACILITIES: Many of the facilities in our historic 110 year old camp have recently (10 years) been updated. They include a dining hall and kitchen, craft house, boat house, medical facility, and eight of the fourteen camper cabins. The oldest building in camp is our historic Lodge, used for shows and group gatherings. The 200 acre natural lake provides a beautiful and functional setting for all our aquatic activities. Camp also includes a climbing wall, tennis courts, a volleyball court, field, archery range, campcraft area, nature/ecology area, and a 500 acre preserved area used for hiking and mountain biking.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our aquatic program is extensive, taking advantage of our location on a beautiful, 200 acre, natural, mountain lake. Water skiing, swimming, canoeing, sailing, kayaking, water trampoline, and more occur on the lake. 80-90% of our staff, on average, are trained in Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR and First Aid. Our boat drivers are required to have a Pennsylvania boating safety license and are screened in our boats.

Older campers may take whitewater canoe trips on the Delaware River and/or a four-day lake canoeing trip to the Adirondacks. Other trips include hiking on the Appalachian Trail, Loyalsock Trail (World's End State Park), Rickett's Glen State Park, Hickory Run State Park, and local trips to the blueberry farm, mill pond, and a local camping spot.

CAMP FACILITIES: Your students will be safely housed in a dorm room at Millersville University and will have all of the same amenities as they would in a hotel. Each dorm room will include a private sink, shower and bathroom. Three meals a day are included with the tuition, and there is a full use kitchenette in the dorms with a microwave, stove and refrigerator. For an additional boarding fee, parents are welcomed to stay in an adjoining dorm room and will also receive a meal plan. At the end of week one, a special picnic will occur between the students, faculty and any family members. For a small additional fee a trip to Hershey Park will also be planned if enough members attend. All of the dancers will featured in a final performance on Friday July 21, 2017.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Viktor Yeliohin (Director) is a former soloist with the Donetsk Ballet of Ukraine. He is a Ballet master, Professor of Choreography and Studio Director with a career spanning more than 20 years.

Vadim Pisarev, trained at the Kiev Chorographical School and was given the honor and highest title of "People's Artist of the Ukraine." He is one of many well trained dancers that will be teaching throughout the summer program.

Inna Dorofeyeva, a native of the Chuguyev in Ukraine, Ms. Dorofeyeva studied at the Kiev Choreographic School under the tutelage of Varvar P. Mey. Formally a Principal Dancer of the Deutsche Oper Am Rhein in Donetsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, she quickly gained international attention.

Cody Smith, has been dancing professionally for 16 years. In New York, he has been a member of the ensemble of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular for the past 11 years. He has also assisted in numerous Broadway workshops and many regional and touring companies.

It is United Methodist affiliated, and open to all Christian denominations. It is easy to step back in time while exploring the area's rich history and heritage. Jumonville Glen was the site of George Washington's first battle, and a small museum of artifacts has been preserved from the French and Indian War that followed.

In addition, the state operated an Orphan School on the property after the Civil War. The beautiful campus, 19th century stone buildings, and flagstone walkways reflect the rich past of this mountaintop, and yet still offer exceptional lodging, comfort and modern conveniences. CAMP FACILITIES: Swope Music Building houses state-of-the-art rehearsal and performance spaces, classrooms, practice rooms, and faculty studios. Students are housed in an on-campus residence hall, adjacent to the dining hall.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The West Chester University High School Summer Music Institute offers resident and commuter options for students currently in grades 9 through 12. Students have the opportunity to perform in a variety of large and small ensembles including wind ensemble, string orchestra, choir, flute ensemble, clarinet ensemble, saxophone ensemble, double reed ensemble, brass ensemble, percussion ensemble, and vocal ensemble. All ensembles perform at the end of the Institute, and all concerts are open to family and friends. Auditions for a solo recital are held at the beginning of the week.

The Institute’s faculty consists primarily of West Chester University professors, all of whom are active performing artists in the Philadelphia region. Each student receives two 30-minute private lessons and one studio masterclass on their primary instrument or voice. Students will also participate in music theory/ear training, college prep, and audition prep classes.

Recreational activities include volleyball, a pizza party, and other organized evening activities.

CAMP FACILITIES: Mt. Gilead has 16 buildings available for overnight lodging. Ranging from full sized lodges to small 8 person cabins, options are available for any sized group. Whether it’s a family ski weekend at Camelback Ski Mountain, group retreat or a staff getaway; we keep our rental prices affordable so everyone can afford a visit to the Poconos.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Mt. Gilead offers an atmosphere of relaxed fun and fellowship and the opportunity to experience God right in the middle of his creation without the distractions of technology and everyday life.

Campers are grouped in divisions according to their completed grade. Girls spend time interacting with their cabin group, divisional group, and the entire camp population at different times throughout the week.
Adventurers are completing grades 2 through 4.

Searchers are completing grades 5 and 6.

Observers are completing grades 7 and 8

Conquerors have completed grades 9 through 11.

A week at Mt. Gilead starts on Sunday and ends on Saturday, for campers staying more than 1 week, we offer the option of a stay over program. This program allows campers to stay at camp over the weekend where they will be cared for by our weekend staff. Parents are welcome to visit during this time and can take their camper out of camp for several hours (to eat, do laundry, etc.).

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Young ladies in 9th, 10th, or 11th grade are eligible to enroll in CILT I. During the school year, CILTs are working on requirements, reading books, developing a resource file, and preparing for the busy summer ahead. Once CILTs arrive at camp, they will prepare to embark on a trip that will change their lives forever. CILTs, their instructor, and other qualified personnel will leave for a week long outdoor living experience, typically backpacking and/or canoeing.

CILTs will experience first hand God’s awesome creation and learn important lessons in teamwork and communication. Once the CILTs return to camp their second week of training consists of working with a cabin, leading activities, songfests, service hours, Bible study and CILT class.

CILT II
There is no break! (Who wants one anyway?!) The CILTs are anxious to continue their training and get started on their second year requirements.

CILT II begins as soon as CILT I ends. CILTs are given their second year books to read, their extensive list of requirements, and with their new network of fellow CILTs, instructor and their mentor, they are ready to begin. One of the most unique features of our CILT II program is the use of a mentor. Each CILT chooses a mentor. Someone who will pray with them, guide, encourage, challenge and keep the CILT accountable throughout the year. The mentor and CILT will share thoughts and ideas on Bible Study methods by Rick Warren. Then the summer begins with three weeks of training.

CILT II participants are required to attend our staff training week, otherwise known as Pre-Camp. During this week, CILTs will have the opportunity to see the workings behind camp, as friendships develop, activities are planned, staff is trained and duties are assigned. They will also have the opportunity to earn certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid, and AED. The second week of CILT is filled with training in their areas of specialty, Bible study, CILT classes, and camp service hours. Finally, the third week of training arrives when CILTs get to put all their knowledge into practice when they live-in with a cabin for a full week under the supervision of another counselor. Upon successful completion of all the requirements CILTs will have a graduation ceremony and are welcomed onto our staff!

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Camp fee includes 24-hour medical supervision, meals and snacks, American Diabetes Association Camp t-shirt, housing, supervised program activities and most diabetes supplies.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: CIT Program: A CIT candidate must submit an application with two personal references and a medical reference. Space is limited for this position.

The role of a CIT is to assist counselors while working with younger campers. The CIT Program provides training for youth interested in working with kids, specifically as camp counselors. Participants are expected to interact thoughtfully and compassionately with younger campers; to commit to learning more about themselves, camp, and camp procedures; to be team members and to take on responsibility and leadership. CITs also have the opportunity to learn a basic understanding of diabetes and its care.

The primary goal of the CIT Program is to offer a fun and supportive experience that will develop confidence, commitment, and community. The program focuses on helping youth become future leaders by developing communication, teamwork and leadership skills. CITs will leave ready to become camp counselors.

ADA Camp Freedom offers a unique opportunity to teach and learn more about diabetes, diabetes management, and how kids cope diabetes. CAMP FACILITIES: Camp Chimaqua has acres of woods, fields and tumbling brooks. The setting includes rustic lodges, cabins, a swimming pool, lake, trails and many other amenities.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Chimaqua is an overnight weekend camp for grieving children ages 6-12 offered by the Pathways Center for Grief & Loss. Our focus is on helping your child learn about loss, develop coping skills and build self-confidence. This is achieved through fun-filled activities and opportunities for small- and large-group sharing. In the safe and accepting environment of camp, the children learn ways to understand and express their feelings about their loss. The campers also benefit from spending time with other children who have also experienced a loss. Camp is staffed by professional Pathways Center counselors and trained volunteers, and a registered nurse is on-site for the duration of camp. A specially-trained adult buddy is paired with each child to provide constant companionship, support and supervision throughout the weekend.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Camp Chimaqua is a program of Hospice & Community Care's Pathways Center for Grief & Loss. The Pathways Center for Grief & Loss is a free community resource for children, teens and adults who are coping with the death of someone significant in their lives. Our mission is to support and encourage the inherent ability to heal and discern new paths on one's journey through grief. Professionally trained Pathways Center counselors are committed to:

CAMP FACILITIES: Our camper living facilities are beautiful modern cabins, all of which have wood flooring, windows, air-conditioning and ceiling fans. Modern updated bathrooms with showers and toilet stalls, are within the cabins. The bunks are spacious with plenty of storage for camper and counselor's clothing.

Our facilities, most of which are lit for night play, include basketball courts, baseball/softball fields, hockey rinks, covered turf football/lacrosse/soccer field, grass lacrosse/football fields, grass soccer fields, indoor gymnastics center, tennis courts, volleyball courts, a heated swimming pool, extensive water park and lake toys, cardio and weight rooms, Outdoor Adventure facilities (rock walls, ropes courses, ziplines, and more), woodworking shop, arts & crafts, culinary center, spin studio, archery range, movie theater, canteen, health center and dining hall.

Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Pocono Mountains in Wayne County, PA, Camp Westmont is situated on 400 acres of gently rolling hills with a private 100-acre lake. Westmont provides a fun-filled summer of varied activities for campers ages 6 through 16. Westmont is a co-ed camp with two very distinct campuses – boys on Boys Side and girls on Girls Side. All of our activities are on-site so Westmont’s campers do not need to travel off property to enjoy their daily activities. CAMP FACILITIES: Camp Sequoia is very fortunate to call The Perkiomen School campus our summer home. Pennsburg is a suburban area approximately a one hour drive northwest of Philadelphia in Montgomery County. The proximity of many educational and recreational activities to Pennsburg make our weekly out of camp trips very convenient.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Perkiomen School offers a wide array of playing fields and outdoor athletic facilities such as tennis and basketball courts. An indoor, competition size swimming pool, multiple gyms and top notch art facilities are just a few of the indoor highlights. When it's time for bed, campers will enjoy the comfort of their bedrooms which feature closets, dressers and desks. Bad weather is no problem at Camp Sequoia thanks to our amazing facilities. This is a great asset to our campers who have trouble with change in schedules.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: The LIT program meets the need for young people ages 16-17 who are not yet ready for a summer job and need help developing their social thinking skills, independent skills and job readiness skills. Camp Sequoia's Leader-In-Training program provides a safe and supportive environment for our LIT's to learn and practice these important skills.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Sequoia Kids Weekend Program: A School Year Social Skill Development and Recreational Program for children ages 7-15. Dynamic trips up and down the East Coast foster real life social skills lessons. Camp Leadership and a Registered Nurse are always on these trips.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Leadership is the backbone to our program. To us, Leadership looks different for everyone. Two aspects of our program that specifically are designed for intentional communication, empowered decision making, and relationship building include Crew and Group. Crew is the daily "chores" group that every camper participates in. This is anything from cooking breakfast, to cleaning the stalls and feeding the horses, to taking out the trash and recycling around camp. We do hard work, and then we get to play! Group is our evening program that is defined as "the part of Longacre that makes us unique". This is an intentionally facilitated communication workshop for all of our campers and staff. This is where we use communication tools and skills to better understand ourselves, others, and how we interact with the world.

Longacre Leadership Camp is a residential, co-ed summer camp located in Central Pennsylvania for students aged 8 - 18. We are located on a 114 acre farm 40 minutes north of Harrisburg and will be enjoying our 44th summer this year. Position dates are from June 14th - August 15th 2018.

We hire camp counselors, AKA Big Kids aged 21 and over who are passionate about working with young people and who are committed to building a community. We are looking for staff with a range of skills and expertise including, carpentry, horse riding, arts and crafts, animal husbandry, outdoor education and organic gardening. This position is a blend of farm work and youth work.
