CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Teen Treks has been a leader in bike touring summer programs for 18 years. At Teen Treks we offer fun and not competitive biking experiences. Our Moderate rated trips are geared towards first time bicyclists, appropriate for most 14-18 year olds in average or better physical health. Our Easy treks are extremely easy in terms of daily mileage and terrain and will attract slower riders. For our Challenging treks you need to be in good shape and enjoy bicycling. We have had many first time riders do challenging treks and this is for those eager for a challenge.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Located just outside of Philadelphia, West Chester University provides a convenient, top-notch location for camp this summer. Overnight campers reside in the campus dormitories where staff and resident advisors supervise campers overnight. Campers have several options for training, including the track at John A. Farrell Stadium, the wooded trails of the Gordon Natural Preserve, and the rural roads of WCU’s South Campus. In addition to running, camp focuses on supplementary exercises to keep distance runners strong, flexible, and healthy. There is a morning and evening work out that are both 2-2.5 hours. Camp SAY was established with one goal in mind – to provide children who stutter with a highly immersive and accepting summer camp experience that builds self-confidence and helps children develop the vital communication skills they need to fully express themselves without fear, bullying or ridicule.

Complementing our wide range of exciting traditional camp activities, Camp SAY provides each child with unique experiences that challenge them in a safe way, creating a strong sense of achievement and helping them confidently navigate the unique issues that children who stutter face in the everyday world.

STAFF
The staff is dedicated to creating a safe and accepting environment where every child can find their beautiful and unique voice. Approximately 80% of children return to camp. Parents and campers tell us it’s our staff and unique approach that consistently exceed expectations, making Camp SAY such a rewarding and transformative experience.

We provide an excellent Staff-to-Camper Ratio: With Camp’s leadership team, camp counselors, specialized activities staff and more, our staff-to-camper ratio is 1 staff member for every 2-3 campers. In addition, each bunk is staffed at night with at least 2 counselors for an average of 6-10 campers.

Counselors complete a comprehensive training program to support the social, emotional and physical needs of all our campers. Staff development includes leadership training and extensive information about stuttering, camper health and safety, camp philosophy, policies and procedures and much more. Additionally, Specialized Activities Staff is carefully selected based on their skills and expertise.

Traveling to Camp SAY: Campers come from all around the country and abroad. We work closely with families to make each child’s trip to Camp SAY as safe and enjoyable as possible. We schedule a chaperoned flight from the southeast to New York City. Children taking individual flights are welcomed at the gate by camp staff. Upon arrival at the airport, camp staff helps navigate baggage claim, arrange check-in for return flights, and board campers on the bus for a fun trip to Camp SAY.

Our Personalized Approach: In order to fully personalize your child’s camp experience, our team obtains detailed preferences in advance of camp from you and your child – from their activities to seemingly small yet important details. For example, children who have birthdays at Camp SAY are celebrated with a group birthday song and birthday cake.

CAMP FACILITIES: Swope Music Building houses state-of-the-art rehearsal and performance spaces, classrooms, practice rooms, and faculty studios. Students are housed in an on-campus residence hall, adjacent to the dining hall.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The West Chester University High School Summer Music Institute offers resident and commuter options for students currently in grades 9 through 12. Students have the opportunity to perform in a variety of large and small ensembles including wind ensemble, string orchestra, choir, flute ensemble, clarinet ensemble, saxophone ensemble, double reed ensemble, brass ensemble, percussion ensemble, and vocal ensemble. All ensembles perform at the end of the Institute, and all concerts are open to family and friends. Auditions for a solo recital are held at the beginning of the week.

The Institute’s faculty consists primarily of West Chester University professors, all of whom are active performing artists in the Philadelphia region. Each student receives two 30-minute private lessons and one studio masterclass on their primary instrument or voice. Students will also participate in music theory/ear training, college prep, and audition prep classes.

Recreational activities include volleyball, a pizza party, and other organized evening activities.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The National Jazz Workshop faculty represents the best jazz educators and performers from Washington, DC, an area known worldwide as one of the nation’s most prestigious and innovative centers for jazz performance. Throughout the week students will receive instruction and coaching from National Jazz Workshop staff that is focused on raising the level of performance of each participant. The main goal of the workshop is to provide participants with the resources and direction to further develop and expand their individual skills throughout the year.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: The National Jazz Workshop also sponsors a year-round all-star high school big band. Auditions are held in the fall and rehearsals take place at George Mason University.

CAMP FACILITIES: Campers sleep in cabins or dormitories and are invited to join us for camp activities such as archery, bocce ball, arts & crafts, music & Bible, mini golf, group games, and chapel. Our facility sits on a beautiful clear lake, providing the opportunity for optional waterfront activities including wading, swimming, and boating. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Shepherds Camp has been providing full-care overnight camp for teens and adults with developmental disabilities for 60 years!

The safety and proper supervision of all campers is our staff's greatest priority. Our 'Protective Oversight Plan' ensures that every individual has a safe stay at camp.

Each year our camp is inspected by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and Broome NY Developmental Services. Shepherds Camp has been approved by the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) to care for adults with developmental disabilities. The approval process includes a full review of our facilities, policies and procedures, and protective oversight plan each season of operation.

Here are just a few of the safety precautions and procedures that we have in place:

Campers are accounted for during all hours of the day and night.
Night staff are awake all night during the summer, indoors and outdoors.

Hourly bed checks are conducted in the dormitories overnight.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Fairview Farm and Guest Ranch also offers Bits and Bridles Girl's English Riding Camp. This overnight camp features an emphasis on English riding. All ability levels are accepted, and instruction is adapted to each individual rider. In addition to equestrian activities, campers also enjoy activities such as team building, obstacle courses, swimming, fishing and the best food east of the Mississippi.

Equine Adventure Camp Level 1
This week long day camp is a “stand out!” It is theme based, and full of surprises! From “Survivor” to Renaissance” to the “Olympics” to “Down Under Horse Camp”, the campers never know what their counselors have in store for them. Campers enjoy horseback riding lessons, crafts, swimming, games, trail rides and team challenges each day. Instruction is geared to meet the needs of beginner riders. Skills are taught in both disciplines of western and English riding. In addition to fun on horseback, Wednesday night offers an overnight camp out for all campers. The night is packed with special activities which are always a well -kept secret, but always fun and exciting. On Friday, the last day of camp, friends and families are invited to see the campers perform their skills in a horse show.

As with our Level 1 camp, this camp includes many other activities such as swimming, crafts, games, trail rides and daily challenges. The famous overnight camp out on Wednesday is also included in this camp. It is a complete package of fun and learning in an energetic environment!

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Hiking, stream-stomping and bug-catching are a few of the key ingredients that have made Riverbend's summer exploration camp a sensation for 35 years. Program:

Riverbend believes that amazing things happen when a child spends time in nature.

-Increase their fitness level and distance vision.

Riverbend is looking for energetic and motivated students between the ages of 16 and 18, to assist with our summer camp program and have a positive impact on the lives and education of younger children. Educators-In-Training will spend their time assisting professional educators and assistant educators with group management, daily activities, modeling of appropriate behavior, and providing nurturing support of campers. In addition, EITs will get to participate in activities with the children, including games, nature exploration, field trips, and more. EITs work primarily with our youngest campers and are a vital part to the success of the program.

Pre-requisites:

25 hours of cumulative experience working with children in a CIT program, babysitting, community experience, or similar experience.
Experience working with multiple age groups of children.
An excitement for the great outdoors and a passion for sharing it with children.

Responsibilities:

EIT's perform a vital role in Riverbend's summer camp program. Depending on the EIT's time and growth in the position there will be potential for increased responsibilities throughout the summer including but not limited to check in and check out, leading an Activity Day program, and planning and implementing lessons.

Basic duties include:
-Assisting camp staff with assigned tasks that help with the general management of educational groups, primarily for children 3-6 years of age.
-Providing a role model for the younger children on the appropriate ways to behave at camp and how to successfully explore the natural world.
-Assisting with the leading of Circle Time and Activity Day.
-Assisting with implementation of lesson plans and activities.
-Assisting with the clean-up of education spaces, including picnic areas, outdoor classroom, supply room and others.
-Assisting with camper lunch.

Qualifications:

-Successful completion of pre-employment screening including drug test and Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance and criminal background check.
-Ability to work actively outdoors during the hot summer months and in all weather conditions.

Riverbend is seeking self-motivated, energetic, and passionate educators to be a part of the staff of Riverbend's Summer Exploration Day Camp. Each week 80-100 children, ages 3–13, come to our 30-acre Gladwyne site for outdoor hands-on exploration and discovery. The atmosphere is friendly and child-centered. Curriculum is interpreted and delivered by professional staff with a strong emphasis on exploring and expanding children's interests and stimulating investigation. Some programs take place at other sites and include field trips, cook-outs, camp-outs, and camping trips. Groups are generally 12-14 children and are led by a lead educator and supported by an assistant educator.

Responsibilities:

Educators will work with a specific age group for the majority of the summer. Age groups will be designated based on experience and interest.
Educators will be required to interpret existing curriculum and amend it to be age appropriate lesson plans each day. Educators are encouraged to collaborate in this process.

Educators implement the lesson plans with a group of approximately 12-14 campers for whom they have primary responsibility, which includes group management, chaperoning field trips, and organizing cook-outs and overnights when teaching the older groups.

Educators and assistant educators are expected to work together as a team and supervise any Educator-in-Training (teen volunteer) assigned to their group.
General upkeep of the facility each day will be expected with weekly chores completed on Fridays.

Qualifications:

-Successful completion of pre-employment screening including drug test and Pennsylvania Child Abuse History -Clearance and criminal background check.
-Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Education, Biology, Geology, Outdoor Recreation, etc.).
-Understanding of basic principles of environmental education

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Why settle for ordinary when you can strive to be INCOMPARABLE? The reimagined 2022 Incomparable Marching Band Workshops immerse participants of all experience levels in an educational setting that fosters individual progress and inspires growth as performers AND people!

Student participants will work with our educational team to develop performance techniques and leadership skills in their area of emphasis (Drum Major, Winds, Color Guard, Battery Percussion, Front Ensemble). Participants will also engage in a collaborative and goal-oriented full-ensemble environment while assembling a Capstone Demonstration to be performed at the conclusion of the Workshop!

DRUM MAJOR TRACK goes beyond the basic 4 pattern . Drum Major students will learn strategies and techniques that develop presence, communication skills, musicianship, and more! In addition to fostering skills on the podium, Drum Major track participants will engage in leadership clinics each day that foster a heightened awareness of how the lessons learned in marching band can be successfully deployed in everyday life.

BRASS AND WOODWINDS are featured in this track of our Incomparable clinics. Students will focus on developing individual musicianship, ensemble skills, and visual performance techniques with our featured clinicians. Participants will engage in daily leadership clinics that encourage personal growth and help each student reach their full potential both on and off the field!

FRONT ENSEMBLE are the focus in this clinic track. From vibraphones to rack city, students will receive focused sessions on musicianship, technique development, and contemporary performance styles that they can incorporate into their home programs. BATTERY PERCUSSION students will focus on technique, uniformity, and musicianship during their dedicated clinic sessions. Additional daily sessions in leadership and personal responsibility round out the week for percussion students during their Incomparable clinic experiences!

Spin. Toss. Catch. These fundamentals will be the focus of the COLOR GUARD track at the Incomparable Marching Band Workshops. CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Students may apply for a need based scholarship. Scholarship is based on a lot of factors including availability of funds. Application does not guarantee a scholarship. Eligibility Criteria: Must be a student living in the U.S., must have a copy of the most recent U.S. IRS Tax Return. Preference will be given to student recommendations by Partner Schools. Our Nonprofit DataEthics4All 501(c)(3) EIN 85-3148963 provides need based Scholarships to Students to participate in the STEAM in AI Program based on the availability of funds.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Start a STEAM in AI Chapter to find all year round opportunities for students to learn artificial intelligence and ethics, leadership and volunteering. CAMP FACILITIES: Camp Shand has a small lake, outdoor pool, dining hall, recreation hall, modern first aid center, modern shower house, 12 cabin, outdoor basketball, large sports field, GAGA pit, two fire circles, miles of trails and archery range.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: YMCA Camp Shand offers a traditional values based program which is also ACA accredited. A majority of staff are 18 and older. All have background checks and are CPR/First Aid certified and receive a 40 hours of training prior to the start of class.

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:

CAMP FACILITIES: Conshatawba is a Resident Camp that specializes in The Arts and Adventure. We have a ceramics and pottery program, arts and craft building, theater stage,pool, climbing rock wall and zip line, low ropes course, archery field and numerous sports fields. Conshatawba has beautiful lodges, platform tents, and cabins for lodging.Girls attend themed weeks of camp throughout the summer with this year's most popular sessions being a Percy Jackson session and a Hunger Games themed session. Conshatawba offers resident camping for girls ages 8-17 as well as family sessions.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Conshatawba has adventure programming specializing in backpacking trips. Conshatawba offers a 4 sided climbing tower and zipline. Conshatawba also focuses on the arts with an indoor theater and arts studio.

Our camps are staffed with activity specialists, a cook, a health supervisor and specialty staff for adventure programs. Staff members are carefully selected for their skills as well as how they work with children and adults. They participate in weeklong training sessions where they earn appropriate certifications. Camp Conshatawba offers programming for Girl Scouts to build girls of confidence, courage and character.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: We offer a two week CIT session for girls to learn leadership skills.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): We offer family white water rafting programs and traditional family camp programs. There are also Mom and daughter weekend programs.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Camp Conshatawba offers year round programming. Groups may rent the lodges during the year. The challenge course/zipline is available for reservation during the months of May-October. Winter programming with cross county skiing is also available.

CAMP FACILITIES: We have a private basketball development court. Our professional equipment contains two shoot-away machines and an assortment of training aids, WE also have an indoor strength and player development are equipped with flat screen tvs and athletic lounge area.

CAMP FACILITIES: Located on a beautiful 114 acre Farm, our programming occurs in our vegetable garden, on our horse trails, and in our wooden barn. Our Camp Site is located in a beautiful wooden canopy, near Little Buffalo State Park, with rustic cabins, a separate bath house, and family style dining hall.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: We practice leadership at the farm. It looks like learning to care for our community spaces together. It looks like square dancing in the barn and growing closer through shared experiences. It looks like eating together as one big family for every meal, sharing stories from our days and a laugh over spilled milk. Go camping, play Magic, learn the ukulele, climb a rock face, play soccer, learn to cook, have a barn dance, ride a horse, read a book, make up a new game, have a cardboard sword battle. These are just a few of the incredibly fun activities you will have to choose from at camp. The magic of Longacre happens as we bring learning leadership into all aspects of camp life and come together as a community. We believe in learning by living, and learning to better communicate how we feel about our experiences.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Leadership is the backbone to our program. To us, Leadership looks different for everyone. By building relationships, practicing open and honest communication, and empowered decision making. Our community values self-expression, compassion, cooperative leadership, and living joyfully.

Throughout every aspect of our program, campers and staff develop lifelong friends, indelible memories, and tangible skills. We grow leaders each summer who make lasting impacts on their communities, families, and the world.

Two aspects of our program that specifically are designed for intentional communication, empowered decision making, and relationship building include Crew and Group. Crew is the daily "chores" group that every camper participates in. This is anything from cooking breakfast, to cleaning the stalls and feeding the horses, to taking out the trash and recycling around camp. We do hard work, and then we get to play! Group is our evening program that is defined as "the part of Longacre that makes us unique". This is an intentionally facilitated communication workshop for all of our campers and staff. This is where we use communication tools and skills to better understand ourselves, others, and how we interact with the world.

Longacre Leadership

Longacre Leadership Camp is a residential, co-ed summer camp located in Central Pennsylvania for students aged 8 - 18. We are located on a 114 acre farm 40 minutes north of Harrisburg and will be enjoying our 44th summer this year. Position dates are from June 14th - August 15th 2018.

We hire camp counselors, AKA Big Kids aged 21 and over who are passionate about working with young people and who are committed to building a community. We are looking for staff with a range of skills and expertise including, carpentry, horse riding, arts and crafts, animal husbandry, outdoor education and organic gardening. This position is a blend of farm work and youth work.
