CAMP FACILITIES: Cobb Track and Angel Field is host to thousands of athletes each year. World, American, collegiate and high school records have all been set on this amazing facility. The Track has hosted the USA National Championships, USA Junior Nationals, and is home to the prestigious Stanford Invitational. During each training session, campers select an event of their choice for specialization. Each group is assigned an experienced event coach, for specialized training and individual attention.

Do I need to provide a tent or other camping equipment for the overnight farm trip? No, your camper will not need to bring their own tent. For the overnight camping trip your child will need his or her own sleeping bag, clothes and personal items.

What is Bay Leaf Kitchen's background/experience? The Bay Leaf Kitchen team have an extensive background in camping, cooking, teaching and education management. For a detailed history please check out our Who We Are or Mission & Values pages.

What kind of knives or other equipment will campers be using? Campers will be using age appropriate kitchen equipment including safe knives, stoves, ovens, and mixers with guidance and supervision of Bay Leaf Kitchen staff.

What is your cancellation policy? Our refund policy is designed to discourage last minute cancellations and to help families on the waiting list. The tuition is refundable (minus a $50.00 application fee) for requests received in writing, via e-mail, to info[AT]bayleafkitchen.org before May 15th, 2017. After May 15th, there is no refund unless the space can be filled by another camper. During camp, there is no refund for camper illness, missed days, vacations, or dismissal from the program. CAMP FACILITIES: 6 large camper cabins that have restrooms and showers and are all wheelchair accessible, outdoor pool, recreation lodges, indoor dining hall, outdoor basketball court, picnic area, infirmary, sports field and 3 amphitheaters (1 large and 2 small), access to several hiking trails within the State Park. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Traditional summer camp activities include campfire programs, carnivals, talent shows, theme dances, camp olympics, kickball, t-ball, softball, dinosaur egg hunts, crafts and specialty classes like cooking, dance classes, soap making, frisbee golf and more. Camp-A-Lot was started in 1964, is sponsored by The Arc of San Diego and is accredited by The American Camp Association.

Staff are pre-screened, interviewed, references checked, complete a background check via the FBI, the Department of Justice and the National Sex Offenders Registry, pass a phycial and a drug test prior to being accepted. Staff go through 4 days of intensive training before camp sessions start. Training includes behavior intervention, health & safety procedures, disability awareness and more.

Camp-A-Lot & Camp-a-Little not only provide 5 days of fun, adventure and socialization for our campers, it also gives their families and care-providers a much needed break.

CAMP FACILITIES: Cedar Lake has various bunkhouses and lodges. We can accommodate multiple groups at one time, and have a 290 camper maximum capacity.

Cedar Lake Camp also offers many activities for groups including canoeing, swimming, hiking, volleyball, basketball, campfires, disc golf and an exceptional challenge course.

Facilities include an outdoor amphitheater and first-rate meeting hall with movie screen and audio/visual equipment. Lodging options include lodges, bunkhouses and cottages - all in a beautiful mountain setting.

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
CAMP COUNSELOR JOB DESCRIPTION

Brief Description: Camp counselors at Pali Adventures are responsible for the physical and emotional well-being of campers. They supervise campers in a cabin setting, at mealtimes, and during activities. Counselors are in charge of facilitating activities throughout the day. Counselors work as a team to ensure all campers have a fun and memorable experience at camp. Counselors report directly to their Specialty Director and Group Leader.

QUALIFICATIONS

 Exhibit characteristics of responsibility, dependability, leadership, patience, punctuality, hard work, sense of humor, self-control, integrity, common sense, good judgment and a positive enthusiastic attitude.
 Complete the staff application and interview process.
 Attend staff training (May 30 – June 12) and all in-service trainings.
 Must have completed high school and be a minimum 18 years of age or older as of 5/30/20.
 Desire and ability to work with children.
 Other duties as assigned

Staff members are entrusted with the care and safety of young children in a rustic setting replete with natural and man-made dangers. All staff members must have the ability to respond immediately to an emergency. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: YEA is a unique and inspiring leadership summer camp for youth 12-17 who care about community service, activism and social justice. This week-long sleep-away program is designed to be a fun and transforming experience that builds life-long friendships between youth with similar interests. YEA Camp New York will have two concurrent sessions! One session for teens with a variety of causes, and for the first time ever, a separate session for teens interested in animal activism (and what better location than a Farm Animal Sanctuary!).

Our program also provides a meaningful opportunity for campers to learn more about some of the issues facing our planet and to get inspired and empowered to take action on those issues. Campers choose an issue of importance to them (for example, some have chosen climate change, racism, homophobia, homelessness, animal rights) and at YEA they build the knowledge, skills, confidence, and community to take action on that issue long after camp is over. CAMP FACILITIES: All campers stay in cabins. There is a large outdoor pool, large music shell, climbing tower, zip line, lake for canoeing, basketball court, horse back riding, archery range, baseball field and 1000 arces of redwoods.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: This is the 54th annual camp. The Hayward La-Honda Music Camp is organized to challenge students in a variety of creative pursuits and is devoted to the development of musicianship for students grades 6-12. This is accomplished through a program of study, concentrated rehearsal, performance, recreation and general camp life.

The camp mission is to inspire young people to achieve their best musically, to enjoy a great social/recreational experience and take home memories that will last a lifetime. The program includes bands, orchestras, chorus, jazz bands and many elective classes. Some of the elective classes include, music theory, latin jazz, music composition, electronic music, conducting, double reed making, arts and crafts, chamber music and jazz improvisation.

CAMP FACILITIES: Training is held at the Potrero Field on campus. This complex features space equal to four full size soccer fields. The camp's exclusive use of these fields insures that they are in magnificent condition. Even our professional players on the staff, who expect perfect playing surfaces, appreciate the chance to work on such well-kept fields. Games are also held in the New Arroyo Hall gym next door to the dorms. Playing with tennis shoes and with the smaller indoor ball, campers get the challenge of playing a quicker game with restricted space.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our home is the stunning campus at Cal State Channel Islands located near Camarillo, CA. The university is surrounded by agricultural land and nestled at the base of the Santa Monica mountains. It has the most modern facilities of a Cal State school and state of the art soccer fields for our campers. Now in our 41st year of running camp, we continue to be leader in youth soccer programs.

CAMP FACILITIES: In both NYC and LA, campuses are accessible only with a valid AMDA photo identification card, which High School Summer Conservatory students receive.

Supervision is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. When students are not in class with our world-class faculty, they are supervised by members of our trained AMDA staff.

Students leave campus only for planned and chaperoned outings, which may include going to a Broadway show or visiting NYC and LA tourist destinations.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: What is a typical day like?

Morning classes in your chosen performing arts focus (Acting, Vocal Music or Dance) with emphasis breakout sessions in your major.

Rehearsals for your Final Performance

Performing Arts Experience classes, selected to compliment your background, focus and interests.

Students enjoy free time after lunch and in the evenings. Many students choose to rehearse, visit AMDA’s incredible libraries, or relax in the dorms during free time.

All accepted students are required to submit a placement video, so we can prepare to meet students at their respective levels. All students are considered for scholarships based on their performances in these placement videos.

CAMP FACILITIES: Camp Wamp is a sleep away camp where kids camp out under the stars every night. There is a lake, a rock wall, recreation /dining hall and, the most trees you've ever seen covering many acres of forest.

Campers enjoy a variety of outdoor activities including; fishing, canoeing, singing around the camp fire, hiking, making new friends, participating in survival challenges, and much more.

All Camp Wamp sessions offer STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) experiences. STEAM will be introduced in an outdoor classroom setting where professionals introduce STEAM throughout the week at camp. STEAM is geared towards problem solving specific to the disabilities of each child.

Camp Wamp’s survival challenges encourage teamwork, self education, and fosters goal setting. We believe being a part of a team is one way to enjoy adventures that the wilderness of the High Sierra’s has to offer. Nature is our living classroom, and the more children are exposed to elements, the more they tend to appreciate the natural environment.

OTHER CAMP INFO: The Stephen J Wampler Foundation incorporated in October 2001, becoming a fully recognized tax-exempt non-profit 501(c) 3 organization in March of 2002 (Tax ID number #80-0470847). Our outdoor programs started in August of 2004 when we welcomed our first 24 campers. The organization has grown over the past 17 years, and we have sponsored 1250 children.

Camp Wamp, located near North Lake Tahoe in the High Sierras, is a place where kids with physical challenges have the week of their life in the great outdoors. The kids of Camp Wamp leave the experience having learned to face life with a new sense of self-reliance, ambition, optimism and adventure. Most of these kids are also quick to say that Camp Wamp was the, “Best Week Ever”!.

CAMP FACILITIES: Skylake's secret to success is its small cabin groups. "Boys' camp" and "Girl's Camp" each with their own 16 rustic cabins is where the Skylake spirit is born. The 6500 square foot lodge, dining hall and lakeside porch is a center of activity. Tennis courts, sand volleyball, climbing wall, campfire circle, private docks on Bass Lake all provide a complete camp experience.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Campers that have completed the 9th grade are eligible to apply for the Skylake "Camper In Leadership Training Program." Successful completion of this program may lead to invitation to return for the CILT II summer.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): Skylake operates a Family Camp for a number of weeks prior to the children' camp sessions and again in the fall after children' camp concludes.

CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
Skylake sessions run a minimum of two weeks. Sessions normally commence in the middle of June and conclude in the middle of August

CAMP FACILITIES: Campers sleep in cabins (or if they are really lucky teepees) with a staff member in each cabin or teepee. Cabins/teepees have six bunk beds and are solid wood structures with canvas flaps covering the windows and the door. Each tribe has a set of brand new bathrooms with individual restrooms and showers.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: For over 80 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco has been providing this creative, fun and supportive camping experience for youth ages eight to 18. We surround our kids with positive role models 24-hours a day to provide the love and encouragement they need to realize their full potential.

Located in a 2,000 acre beautiful redwood forest three and half hours north of San Francisco, Camp Mendocino offers programs that are clearly unique to those offered at our nine Clubhouses in San Francisco. As with all of our programs at Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco, kids learn respect for others and themselves and are given opportunities to learn, grow and succeed.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: We have a LIT program for teens 15-17. It is a job readiness program in which teens participate in various workshops (i.e., resume writing), as well as shadow different jobs at Camp. CAMP FACILITIES: The Ranch at Live Oak Malibu is set on a historic working ranch with a place in Southern California history. Our retreat spans acres of native grounds, offering hiking trails, picturesque mountain and canyon views. The Ranch offers the perfect setting to focus on your health, fitness, nutrition and wellness goals. The calming colors and beautiful decor of our private accommodations enhance relaxation. Your stay at The Ranch will feel as if you are in a friend's comfortable guest house.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Food, fitness activities, classes, and private accommodations are included with the price of one week's stay. Food served here is all vegetarian and organic, with a good portion of the produce coming from our own sustainable farm. We allow groups to reserve the entire week and bring their friends. In this instance, we can tailor a program to handle the groups fitness level. CAMP FACILITIES: Our 200 acre property contains forest land, a swimming pond, activity fields and hiking trails. We have 14 cabins, a dining hall, meetinghouse and a large community garden attached to our farm lands and orchard.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summer Camp - Ages 8-14: Campers come for 1 week or two week session (and some for 3, 4, or 5 weeks!) and go on wilderness trips. Each week there are 3 day, 2 night trips to Tahoe, the Sierra Buttes, and/or the Yuba River.

Teen Leadership Camp - Ages 15-16: These exciting programs takes the Summer Camp experience to a whole new level for 15 and 16 year olds: We offer a two-week hiking program, a one-week farming and cooking program, and a two-week bike repair and bike touring program.

Hiking Program (Two weeks): TLCers will spend two days bonding, learning about their trip, and preparing for hiking. They and their trip leaders will then embark on a 10-day backpacking trip along the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). They will then return to camp, and will have two days of closure at the end.

Farming & Cooking Program (One week): TLCers will spend their week working in Woolman's organic garden, learning about farming, plants and the farm to table journeys of the food we eat. They will learn nutrition and cooking skills as they prepare many of their meals with the fruits and vegetables harvested.

CAMP FACILITIES: SOAR has two major Base Camp facilities: one in Balsam North Carolina where we have rustic cabins, a dining pavilion, on site showers/bathrooms, high and low ropes course, as well as several gathering campfire locations. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Philosophy: SOAR believes all individuals identified with learning disabilities (LD) and attention deficit disorder (ADHD) possess inherent talents and gifts. CAMP FACILITIES: Campers live with their counselors in one of several villages grouped by age and gender. Our facilities also include multiple indoor and outdoor program spaces (including a 700-person Amphitheater), a sustainable farm, a vineyard, four outdoor plazas, athletic facilities and fields, an alpine climbing tower, a low ropes course and a 400-feet zip line, overnight space, hiking trails, multiple arts facilities - and a pool and waterslide.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: At URJ Camp Newman, we’re building a foundation for a vibrant and joyful Jewish life. Rooted in Jewish values and guided by our experienced staff, we offer fun, immersive summer sessions that give your child the opportunity to develop community, teamwork, self-esteem, and individual skill.

Activities include athletics, outdoor adventure sports, music, art, dance, leadership training, and social action. Campers celebrate their best selves, form lifelong friendships, and find a community where they belong.

Avodah
11th Grade

Avodah is a multifaceted, service-based program in which campers play an integral role in camp’s day-to-day operations. Avodahniks develop a strong work ethic and serve as Jewish role models at camp. Beyond daily activities, campers work diligently on a significant camp improvement project and march as a team in both the annual Pride Parade and AIDS Walk in San Francisco.

Counselor in Training (CIT)

Our highly-selective and popular CIT program trains our future staff and camp leadership, offering young adults a valuable personal and professional growth opportunity. Leadership workshops and Judaic programs are combined with practical hands-on training with children of all ages.
