Professional & Crazy Fun Staff — Our Educators teach for us all year round. They live and breathe our renowned curriculum, and they’ve been practicing our trademark camp games for years, so they are more than ready to rumble.

Summer Program Director Cora Garner is an American Camp Association Member. She came to us after working at Cornell University, Stanford University, and most recently the University of California, Berkeley. Through her work in Higher Education, she has developed and taught courses that focus on identity and community development.

At Girls Leadership we want you to be true-to-you. Every day starts with community games. Our theatre-based workshops focus on developing personal and societal leadership, such as how to ask for what you need. In these sessions girls practice new tools for speaking up for themselves and for others.

We also create beautiful art projects, stay active outside, and always have a spirit theme for the day. These activities are designed to encourage girls to embrace who they are, reflect on what they believe, and give them an opportunity to express themselves creatively.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our home base is in a gymnastics gym with rooms and facilities for extra camp fun.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our highly trained staff specialize in caring for children and teens with special needs in the recreation environment. We have one staff per 3 children every day to cater to the safety and needs of our campers. Our programming is centered on each camper having a fun, safe, pro-social day in which new experiences can be grasped!

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: We offer camp internships to individuals who have graduated from high school. This growing opportunity allows the intern to learn from seasoned staff and advance into a paid position in the second session of camp.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: YEA Camp is a unique and inspiring leadership summer camp for youth 12-17 who care about community service, activism and social justice. A week-long sleep-away program in a beautiful camp location, YEA is designed to be a fun and transformative experience that builds life-long friendships between youth with similar interests. Our program also provides a meaningful opportunity for campers to learn more about some of the issues facing our planet and to get inspired and empowered to take action on those issues.

Campers choose an issue of importance to them (for example, some have chosen climate change, racism, homophobia, homelessness, animal rights) and at YEA they build the knowledge, skills, confidence, and community to take action on that issue long after camp is over. Youth who have participated in our programs report that the camp was one of the most fun, rewarding and life-changing experiences they have had, and, with YEA's community support, have gone on to start school clubs, plan fundraisers for nonprofits, organize community clean-ups, and attend hearings to comment about important community issues.

CAMP FACILITIES: At Natoma, we sleep under the stars on cots. We also have a swimming pool with water slide, archery and hatchet ranges, dining hall, fire ring, miles of trails, drama platform, and a perennial creek.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Natoma has been providing a week of sleeping under the stars, an experience campers will remember for a lifetime, since 1941. It is operated by Friends of Camp Natoma, a non-profit organization, and is an American Camping Association (ACA) Accredited Camp. At Natoma, campers gain self-confidence, become positive team players, expand their imagination, and develop a relationship with the natural world around them. All staff are dual background-checked, first-aid and CPR certified, and hand-picked for their positive work experience in youth development.

CAMP FACILITIES: Cedar Lake has various bunkhouses and lodges. We can accommodate multiple groups at one time, and have a 290 camper maximum capacity.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Cedar Lake does not facilitate programs, but works with each group to ensure their program goes smoothly.

Cedar Lake Camp also offers many activities for groups including canoeing, swimming, hiking, volleyball, basketball, campfires, disc golf and an exceptional challenge course.

Facilities include an outdoor amphitheater and first-rate meeting hall with movie screen and audio/visual equipment. Lodging options include lodges, bunkhouses and cottages - all in a beautiful mountain setting.

The owners of Cedar Lake Camp also direct a week of summer camp for children in the 3rd through 12th grade during the last week of July. If you have a child that would like to attend a great week of camp, but do not have a group affiliation, this may be the answer.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Director Robert Radnoti enters his tenth season as head coach of the Pepperdine men's and women's cross country and track and field teams. He continues his mission of leading these programs to national prominence.

What Can you Expect?
A typical day consists of breakfast, a morning workout, rest, lunch and speeches from the coaches followed by an afternoon workout and a group activity. You will learn visualization techniques, team-building skills and ways to maximize your performance through appropriate nutrition. 24-hour supervision is an important feature of every Nike Running Camp. Staff members reside in campers’ quarters and participate in all activities.

CAMP FACILITIES: SOAR has two major Base Camp facilities: one in Balsam North Carolina where we have rustic cabins, a dining pavilion, on site showers/bathrooms, high and low ropes course, as well as several gathering campfire locations. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Philosophy: SOAR believes all individuals identified with learning disabilities (LD) and attention deficit disorder (ADHD) possess inherent talents and gifts. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Director Adam Boothe’s passion for running has stayed with him throughout a successful high school and collegiate running career, an NCAA coaching career, post-collegiate coaching, and as a running store owner. CAMP FACILITIES: Beautiful campus that offers a full service fitness facility, multiple rooms for programming, theater, and newly installed artificial grass.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: J-Camp's management team carefully selects all summer staff. Pre-interview essays determine candidates' outlooks, experience and intentions. Group interviews determine past experience with youth, leadership skills and general personality traits while individual interviews identify critical thinking abilities, supervision aptitude and problem solving skills. Finally, candidates receive background checks and undergo multiple reference checks.

Before camp starts, counselors train for over 35 hours and unit leaders complete over 55 hours of training.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Activities include a ropes course, BMX, mountain biking, climbing wall, surfing, trapeze, archery, basketball, baseball, golf, tennis, volleyball, board diving, fencing, arts and crafts, horseback riding, vaulting, riflery, scrapbooking, journaling, martial arts, silk painting, skin diving, swimming, water polo, and more. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The mission of US Performing Arts Camps is to promote and develop the growth of performing artists in America.

US Performing Arts Camps is considered the premier top tier summer program for training young people in the arts. Our programs are taught by the university or college departments and their professional faculty and guest professionals in their fields.

US Performing Arts offers programs in Animation, Computer Animation, Costume design, Directing, Film-making (including 4K High-definition), Dance, Hip Hop Dance, Musical Theater, Play-writing, Sit Com Writing, Sit Com Acting, Singing, Voice-over work for animation, movies and games, and we started the first College Audition Boot Camps for high school students.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: A limited number of partial scholarships are available through US Performing Arts. US Performing Arts will also work with parents on payment plans.

CAMP FACILITIES: We keep a rustic environment to help youth receive an outdoor experience. We have flushing toilets and hot showers, but we'll spend most of our time playing in the great outdoors.

CAMP FACILITIES: Parents use their local pool to supervise kid's stroke drills and video them underwater so they can see and correct their stroke.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Since 1985, the only swim camps that teach parents how to teach their kids to swim like World Record holders using a smartphone underwater video camera. Our swimmers have won 43 Gold Medals, state and national championships, and have set 11 World Records.

Computer analysis of our swimmers at Colorado Springs showed that they doubled their peak hand force output in just five days. Dryland and Pool sessions are 3 hours each and include underwater videotaping and special drills to improve stroke efficiency. Most freestylers cut their stroke count in half. Each camp is a total of 30 hours.

Dryland sessions include stroke, strength and flexibility analysis, Microfiber Reduction to increase flexibility beyond what stretching alone can do, and stretches and strength training exercises. Each swimmer receives a 2500 yard workout to do at home after the camp, and a Somax Powerbelt to increase the strength and speed of hip rotation. Parents report improved school grades after chest expansion is doubled.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: We have year-round individual programs for golf, tennis, running, soccer, baseball, football, and basketball which improve performance far beyond coaching and strength/endurance training. CAMP FACILITIES: YMCA Camping is at its best at Sequoia Lake. Established by 5 Valley YMCAs the property of Sequoia Lake is held in trust by the Sequoia Lake Conference of YMCAs to be operated exclusively by The YMCA. In 2010 YMCA Camp Sequoia Lake became its own branch of the Golden State YMCA Association to host all of the Associations camping programs managing all programming on Sequoia Lake. Villages Today YMCA Camp Sequoia Lake is home to 5 independent villages which house a wide variety of programs during the summer. Sequoia, Gaines, Redwood, Millwood and Tulequoia.
