CAMP FACILITIES: The facility is rustic, in keeping with its wilderness adventure program. Participants sleep in cabins and large traditional tipis. There is a bathhouse with private showers and flush toilets. In addition, there is an administrative building with the camp's office and health center, recreation hall, dining hall, bike shop, arts & crafts hut, pool, volleyball court, archery range, challenge ropes course, horseshoe pit, disc golf course, and a camp fire area including a stage.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our counselors are required to complete one session as a Counselor In Training before we offer them a position. CITs will shadow an established counselor as well as have a daily check in meeting with the directors. Before the start of camp they are also trained in conflict mediation, and required to become CPR/ First Aid certified at our Staff Meeting.

March: Annual Saturday Morning Film Festival where we screen the films made at the Winter Film Camp in a real movie theater in the bay area.

April: Weekend Workshop with Casting Directors, Broadway Stars, or other amazing guests!

May: Cannes International Film Festival in France. Since 2016 we have taken groups of students to France for the Cannes International Film Festival with films we have made at the Winter Film Camp.

OTHER CAMP INFO: The Stephen J Wampler Foundation incorporated in October 2001, becoming a fully recognized tax-exempt non-profit 501(c) 3 organization in March of 2002 (Tax ID number #80-0470847). Our outdoor programs started in August of 2004 when we welcomed our first 24 campers. The organization has grown over the past 17 years, and we have sponsored 1250 children.

Camp Wamp, located near North Lake Tahoe in the High Sierras, is a place where kids with physical challenges have the week of their life in the great outdoors. These tracks are campers' concentration for each session. All instruction takes place in small group lessons and is led by experienced and enthusiastic female musicians, producers, artists, and teachers.

MEALS
Food, glorious food! All meals are delicious and included. Breakfast is typically served between 7:00–8:00 am; lunch is around 12:00 pm; and dinner is usually around 6:00 pm. SPECIAL GUEST ARTIST PERFORMANCES
Every session, a different band plays a live set for the girls and then sticks around for an intimate Q&A. In our end of program survey this was a major highlight for the girls. They learned about different genres of music and had a fun time listening to the bands and getting to engage in meaningful discussions with the visiting artists.

FINAL SHOWCASE
At the end of the session, all campers show off their original work at the Final Showcase for the whole camp community!

San Domenico is an independent co-educational (pre-K through Grade 12) day and boarding school located on 495 acres in San Anselmo, California. Founded in 1850, it is California's first independent school. On campus, are state-of-the-art academic faculties, a music conservatory, riding stables, swimming pool, gymnasium, an organic garden, 2,358 solar panels, and six tennis courts. CAMP FACILITIES: Training is held at the Potrero Field on campus. This complex features space equal to four full size soccer fields. The camp's exclusive use of these fields insures that they are in magnificent condition. Even our professional players on the staff, who expect perfect playing surfaces, appreciate the chance to work on such well-kept fields. Games are also held in the New Arroyo Hall gym next door to the dorms. Playing with tennis shoes and with the smaller indoor ball, campers get the challenge of playing a quicker game with restricted space.

Camp Challenge (Leadership Development Courses):

1. Camp Challenge Four-Week JROTC Leadership Development Program.

This camp is the only credit-producing Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) summer leadership course west of the Mississippi. The course is open to both male and female high school students (entering Grades 9 through 12.) The course consists of a combination of classroom work combined with adventure training activities and will reward successful participants with 180 hours of Leadership Education and Training (LET) Credit.

During the course, participants will develop self-confidence as leaders and as active team members as well as enhance his/her Core Values; Honor, Integrity, Responsibility, Loyalty, and Selfless Service. Additionally, this course is designed to add “Leadership” to Resumes and College Applications.

2. Camp Challenge Two-Week High School Leadership Education and Training.

This two-week leadership camp is designed for both male and female students (entering Grades 9 through 12) who are unable to attend the four-week JROTC Course but who are still interested in achieving a leadership training experience. Camper will choose one of the following electives for their focus: Leadership, Aviation,Computer Science, or ESOL.

3. Camp Challenge Two-Week Middle School Leadership Development Programs (LDP), Basic and Advanced.

LDP Basic is an introduction to leadership for students interested in exploring potential and enhancing existing skills while learning the fundamentals of citizenship. Campers gain invaluable life skills through fun activities and adventure based challenges that reinforce teamwork, accountability, discipline, and respect.

LDP Advanced can be taken after completion of LDP Basic and offers an advanced curriculum in leadership combined with an introduction to subjects that will help prepare campers for high school. This course focuses on the core values of responsibility , loyalty, and selfless service.

4. Camp Challenge Four-Week Middle School Leadership Development Program.

Aviation:
Aviation science presents an introduction to aeronautics through in-class discussions and project-based learning, covering: principles of flight, aircraft anatomy, space travel, remotely-piloted aircraft systems, and how to earn drone, glider and private pilot licenses.

ESOL: English for Speakers of Other Languages
ESOL involves engaging content which promotes active listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, using a variety of instructional mediums and technological support.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: J-Camp's management team carefully selects all summer staff. Pre-interview essays determine candidates' outlooks, experience and intentions. Group interviews determine past experience with youth, leadership skills and general personality traits while individual interviews identify critical thinking abilities, supervision aptitude and problem solving skills. Finally, candidates receive background checks and undergo multiple reference checks.

Before camp starts, counselors train for over 35 hours and unit leaders complete over 55 hours of training.

CAMP FACILITIES: All trips begin at a designated airport. Students explore the most scenic and beautiful places in a particular region, and travel between activity sites in brand-new, 15-passenger vans. We spend each night in a tent, and students learn how to cook in the backcountry—with plenty of guidance from our instructors! They go backpacking, camping, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, whitewater kayaking, ziplining, ice climbing, canoeing, sea kayaking, inflatable kayaking, mountaineering, and mountain biking.

CAMP FACILITIES: Skylake's secret to success is its small cabin groups. "Boys' camp" and "Girl's Camp" each with their own 16 rustic cabins is where the Skylake spirit is born. CAMP FACILITIES: This site offers indoor dormitory sleeping in bunks with mattresses provided. Campers are grouped together by age and supervised by their counseling staff. The beautiful setting also allows for swimming, access to the Russian River, outdoor basketball court, a play area, a cozy main house lodge, a recreation and gaming room, an outdoor campfire circle, cozy places to sit and share, a crafts shack, and a wonderful Redwood chapel.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Saint Francis is a week filled with programs that allow campers to explore and experience outdoor activities and create for themselves a closer connection to God and their communities.

Established in 2001, CSF moved to its new host site in 2014. This Camp Meeker location affords opportunities for activities like crafts, campfire, archery, games, sports, dance, water fun and nature hikes.

We build on themes of understanding and compassion in all of our programs, particularly in chapel, our scarf program, group games and discussions and our creative lessons and themes throughout the week.

Most of our staff are volunteers and attended camp as campers, and they are dedicated to providing a highly spirited, fun, and welcoming environment. We all strive to be good role models of the Christian way of life. We hope that our positive example and loving Christian environment promotes campers to grow spiritually.

The Scarf program, adopted from the YMCA’s ragger program, teaches campers important life skills, by taking on personal challenges and working towards overcoming them successfully. Ultimately, this helps develop lifelong tools a camper needs for personal growth. * Staff members are screened and trained in program, policies, and safety awareness. Our program is sponsored by the Episcopal Diocese of California and is welcoming and inclusive.

OTHER CAMP INFO: The Project Endeavor Experience takes students and faculty from around the globe and works with each participant to hone their skills and talents. The team that is elected by members of that profession will be honored at the event and will be able to meet with the judges. As a part of the Project Endeavor experience, each team will base their project and the competition on behalf of a local charitable organization. Nature Awareness:
Through focusing on nature awareness we encourage our students to experience what is happening around them, awakening curiosity and inspiration. When students are empowered to root in processes like making fire, foraging wild foods, making rope, and learning bird songs; they begin to feel capable of relaxing and deepening in the wilderness. We believe that learning skills of how to source our human lives from the abundant life around us grows respect; respect for the plants that heal our wounds, the sticks that give us warmth, and the creek that cools us. We develop a deepening gratitude to the elements that offer us life.

Regenerative Presence:
We use a variety of tools to inspire a regenerative presence on the planet. At Earth Path Education, we believe that the concept of regeneration is the key to a harmonious future here on Earth. We believe that as humans we can do more than not harm, we can actually feed all of creation with our beauty, our rituals, our songs, and our deep listening.

Village Building:
We hold necessary the role of the village in our Wilderness Rites of Passage ceremonies. It is the village that sends the initaites into their journeys, and the village that catches the initaites and witnesses the transformations. The rites of passage is also a key part to the health of the village, pumping all members with health, inspirations and vitality, bringing to the village the vision seeds that are to sprout us into a more harmonious way of relating.

Ceremonial Arts:
At Earth Path Education we are committed to the beauty way. We make earth offerings, and leave equsitie altars in the forest. We sings and dance, at each spring, we feed the fire with our stories and we compost our grief and our burdens, so that life can grow corn with it to feed the people. We pray for our lives, we pray for the earth. Our dreams bring us messages, and as we tune into our rhythms, and synch up with the rythms of the land. The earth starts to dream up through us, clarifying our purpose, calling us forward, and illuminating our gifts. Our ceremonies are an art of listening, to that wisdom which has been held in the earth and is just waiting to be danced up through us.

Permaculture:
Permaculture creates systems that provide for Human needs and the Earth’ s needs through mutually beneficial relationships. The health of our human community is linked to our local bioregion, which in turn is linked to the wellbeing of all ecosystems. We instill the ethics of Elemental Linking and Holistic Thinking. As every element becomes an integral part of the whole system, the whole community becomes more dynamic, harmonious, and energy efficient. These enhanced relationships reduce maintenance and stress, while increasing yields and happiness. These permaculture principles apply to our ecological relationship and our social relationships.

Play:
We instill the idea that work and play can be one in the same. We inspire youth and adults to follow the things that they are truly passionate about. We help guide each other to feel confident in achieving our dreams, and manifesting a life that we are happy to be living each day. We believe that the most harmonious accomplishments come from a people who love what they were doing, feeling that their calling, is a place where ones passion is meeting the thrist of the world and bringing sweet water to the driest of places. Through implementing these ceremonial practices, we learn how we can create space to deeply explore the blessings of being a woman.

We experience ourselves through ceremony and through play! We learn ancestral crafts, games, stories, and songs as we root into our bio-region! As we camp and hike our amazing landscapes, we explore the ways in which we can sustain ourselves through our understanding of the natural world. We learn a variety of earth skills including how to make fire, wild edibles, permaculture, plant medicines, and much more.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our lodge, rebuilt in 2000, is a 1,400 square foot log structure. It features a great fireplace, a 1,000 square foot open-air deck, and a feeling of rustic nostalgia that will make your wedding, conference, seminar, retreat, or picnic unforgettable.

Facilities also include: amphitheater, 18 open-air cabins (holds 120 people), yurt, 2 modern cabins, fully-equipped kitchen, outdoor dining area, 3 campfire rings, large activity field, lake, Rock Creek, waterfalls, and 80 acres.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Director Adam Boothe’s passion for running has stayed with him throughout a successful high school and collegiate running career, an NCAA coaching career, post-collegiate coaching, and as a running store owner. A Northern California native, Adam graduated from Pioneer HS in 1997. While at Pioneer, Boothe was a CCS Champion and two-time cross country state championships qualifier.

Celebrating our 44th year of running camp, we continue to be leader in youth soccer programs. Our campers have won high school championships, state cups, NCAA, NAIA, and junior college national championships. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The mission of US Performing Arts Camps is to promote and develop the growth of performing artists in America.

US Performing Arts Camps is considered the premier top tier summer program for training young people in the arts. Our programs are taught by the university or college departments and their professional faculty and guest professionals in their fields.

CAMP FACILITIES: Campers sleep in cabins (or if they are really lucky teepees) with a staff member in each cabin or teepee. Cabins/teepees have six bunk beds and are solid wood structures with canvas flaps covering the windows and the door. Each tribe has a set of brand new bathrooms with individual restrooms and showers.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: For over 80 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco has been providing this creative, fun and supportive camping experience for youth ages eight to 18. We surround our kids with positive role models 24-hours a day to provide the love and encouragement they need to realize their full potential.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Traditional summer camp activities include campfire programs, carnivals, talent shows, theme dances, camp olympics, kickball, t-ball, softball, dinosaur egg hunts, crafts and specialty classes like cooking, dance classes, soap making, frisbee golf and more. Everything is adapted when necessary to allow anyone with a disability to participate.

Camp-A-Lot was started in 1964, is sponsored by The Arc of San Diego and is accredited by The American Camp Association.

Staff are pre-screened, interviewed, references checked, complete a background check via the FBI, the Department of Justice and the National Sex Offenders Registry, pass a phycial and a drug test prior to being accepted. Staff go through 4 days of intensive training before camp sessions start. Training includes behavior intervention, health & safety procedures, disability awareness and more.

CAMP FACILITIES: The University of California was chartered in 1868 and its flagship was established at Berkeley, on San Francisco Bay. Today the world's premier public university, UC Berkeley occupies a 1,232 acre campus with a beautiful 178-acre central core.

We share training techniques and methods that helped the Cal men's soccer team win the Pac-12 Championship in 2006, 2007 & 2010! Cal continues to be one of the nation’s top programs for developing talent to play professionally. In 2013, Cal had 18 players in the pro ranks including 13 in the MLS and three in Europe. CAMP FACILITIES: The Ranch at Live Oak Malibu is set on a historic working ranch with a place in Southern California history. Our retreat spans acres of native grounds, offering hiking trails, picturesque mountain and canyon views. The Ranch offers the perfect setting to focus on your health, fitness, nutrition and wellness goals. The calming colors and beautiful decor of our private accommodations enhance relaxation. Your stay at The Ranch will feel as if you are in a friend's comfortable guest house.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Food, fitness activities, classes, and private accommodations are included with the price of one week's stay. CAMP FACILITIES: We are located on 220 acres in the Malibu mountains. It is a nice rustic-type camp , with refurbished boys' side cabins as of 2014 and the girls' side on schedule for refurbishment within the next couple of years. We have an outdoor pool, basketball courts, ping pong tables, gaga court, sports field, ropes course (upper and lower elements) hiking trails, indoor dining hall, conference center, an area for outdoor camping and adventures and more. We have an organic garden, and animal center - with 26 horses, goats, donkeys, chickens, rabbits, a cow and more.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: We offer two week sessions for children entering grades 2-8, three-week sessions for children entering grades 5-8, special one-week mini-camps for children entering grades 2-6, and a variety of programs for teens entering grades 9-12.
The heart of Camp JCA Shalom is our friendly and loving staff. Staff are carefully selected for their skills and sensitivity in working with children. Our staff comes from all over the world: Los Angeles, the Bay Area, the Southwest, the East Coast, Canada and Israel.

All staff are required to participate in an orientation and training program prior to the campers’ arrival.

Low camper-to-staff ratios ensure that each camper receives attention and guidance throughout his/her stay. In addition, we have talented staff who run our arts & crafts, ropes course, dance, music, aquatics, Judaica, nature, and other specialty programs.

TASC : Teen Age Service Camp
(entering 10th -11th grades)

TASC is geared toward developing leadership, through a group-oriented community project implemented by the campers, and through special programs. Throughout the session, TASCers experience pride and fulfillment as they enrich the Camp JCA Shalom campus. In addition, TASCers get to experience the best components of the general camp program along with a special out-of-camp overnight trip. For over 45 years, the TASC program has been one of our most popular teen programs.

TASC : California Kibbutz -
(entering 11th grades)

TASC Kibbutz is a new program created just for entering 11th graders. This program is an immersive three week program designed to be the ultimate Jewish camping and leadership experience. In TASC Kibbutz, we transport ourselves back a hundred years ago to feel what it was like for some of the pioneers who made their way to Israel. The "Kibbutzniks" will have to "create their own world" at camp. They will build their own living area, cook many of their own meals, and even help work the farm at camp! By creating a kibbutz at JCA, the Kibbutzniks will come together as a tightly knit community, grow closer to the land; learn about sustainability and organic farming; and gain knowledge of kibbutz life in Israel- all while having fun at camp! While the Kibbutzniks will spend the majority of time creating their kibbutz, they will still be connected to camp, spending sometime every day with the rest of the camp community, and still participating in many of camps offerings such as horseback riding and the ropes course. At the end of the program, the Kibbutzniks will leave with a sense of accomplishment, a set of friends for life, and a true finale of their last camp experience before becoming a Counselor-In-Training (CIT).

(entering grade 12)

These future leaders have a lasting effect on both the spirit and welfare of Camp JCA Shalom. Workshops in Jewish programming, child development and leadership training, along with observation, individual supervision and actual work with younger campers, helps the CIT explore the functioning and philosophy of camp, and develop his/her leadership abilities. This is an enriching and exciting experience as well as an important step towards future staff positions at camp. By the end of the summer, the CITs have the opportunity to become junior counselors during Session 3, and will receive a small stipend. Personal Interview required.

All Teen Leadership Programs:

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): Year-round programs include family camp weekends, weekend holiday camps, and a week long winter camp.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: We hold fall and spring weekend camps and a week long winter camp. We have family weekends, Jewish holiday day-long programs. We work with synagogues, schools and organizations throughout the west customizing their school, nature and leadership programs. we serve as a community convener for collaborative programs in the Los Angeles area Jewish community.

CAMP FACILITIES: Residential students will be staying at the campus dorms, eating at the campus cafeteria. All activities and classes will be held on-campus.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The faculty consists of renowned lecturers, veterans in International Mathematical Olympiads (IMO) and Olympiad coaches, who have successful careers in math, science, and technology, with many years of classroom teaching experiences. Among them are: Dr. Kevin Wang, founder of Areteem and Math Zoom, former IMO China Team member, former math faculty at UC Irvine and UCLA; Dr. Harold B. Reiter, math professor at UNCC, who is very well known and well respected in math education and math competitions. The camp curriculum will cover some or all of the following topics: For Math: Modular arithmetic, Numbers and their digits & divisors, Basic and advanced counting strategies, Combinatorics, Polynomials and their coefficients & zeros, Algebraic inequalities and other techniques, Special angles and regular polygons, Centers of triangles, Collinearity and concurrency, Trigonometry, Vector and Coordinates.

Various problem solving techniques will be introduced, as well as Math contest strategies. For Science: Scientific research methodologies, principles in mechanics, electricity and magnetism, optics, thermodynamics, etc., and real world applications such as roller coaster theory (you can learn to design your own roller coaster and build it at the camp!). For English as Second Language (ESL) students, there are also topics related to American culture and literature.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our 200 acre property contains forest land, a swimming pond, activity fields and hiking trails. We have 14 cabins, a dining hall, meetinghouse and a large community garden attached to our farm lands and orchard.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summer Camp - Ages 8-14: Campers come for 1 week or two week session (and some for 3, 4, or 5 weeks!) and go on wilderness trips. Each week there are 3 day, 2 night trips to Tahoe, the Sierra Buttes, and/or the Yuba River.

Teen Leadership Camp - Ages 15-16: These exciting programs takes the Summer Camp experience to a whole new level for 15 and 16 year olds: We offer a two-week hiking program, a one-week farming and cooking program, and a two-week bike repair and bike touring program.

Hiking Program (Two weeks): TLCers will spend two days bonding, learning about their trip, and preparing for hiking. They and their trip leaders will then embark on a 10-day backpacking trip along the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). They will then return to camp, and will have two days of closure at the end.

Farming & Cooking Program (One week): TLCers will spend their week working in Woolman's organic garden, learning about farming, plants and the farm to table journeys of the food we eat. They will learn nutrition and cooking skills as they prepare many of their meals with the fruits and vegetables harvested.
