TYPE OF CAMP: Overnight/Sleepaway. Day Camp.
CAMPER GENDER(S): Coed Campers.
BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Nike Track & Field Camps aims to help developing runners become better, stronger and smarter athletes. At Hillsdale College we provide an educational and inspirational experience for athletes ages 12-18.
Each camper is exposed to state-of-the-art training, as our knowledgeable staff uses a combination of drills, demonstrations and training theory to enhance their performance. Flexibility and weight training sessions provide a comprehensive package of the latest methods necessary to improve. Campers can choose from all disciplines: throw (shot put,hammer, discus, javelin), sprints, hurdles, middle distance (including steeplechase), and jumps (high jump, long jump, triple jump, pole vault). Campers will leave with a renewed enthusiasm for their event and a plan for their future!
CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Weightloss, and more. Running, Track & Field.
CAMP FACILITIES: Campers work out at one of two Olympic-Caliber facilities. Indoors, they train at the Biermann Center- which boasts the World’s Widest Indoor 200m Track and the same Mondo surface that was used in the 2012 London Olympic Games. Outdoors, they train at the Herrick Track- which features the same Mondo surface that was used in the 2000 Sydney/2004 Athens Olympic Games.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Director Andrew Towne is in his 6th year as Head Coach of the Hillsdale College Track & Field/Cross Country programs. During this time, he has lead the women to 5 NCAA podium finishes and the 2015-16 Div II Program-of-the-Year award.
